Support Small Businesses in Your Community

GROW is dedicated to creating an empowered and equitable West Michigan by creating opportunities for small business ownership. Your generous donation provides emerging and established small business owners in West Michigan the dynamic technical and lending support they need to thrive.

In 2019, our work resulted in the creation of 101 new businesses in West Michigan and $337,620 in small business loans deployed to borrowers who lacked access to traditional banking. By donating to GROW, you are contributing to efforts just like these that expand economic prosperity in our community through business ownership.

We’ve been able to open a new location and exceed our 2019 goals! The funds helped in adding commercial accounts and developing new products that keep patrons coming back.”

Seeds of GROWth Campaign
Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, we have doubled-down on our dedication to helping small businesses in West Michigan. Since March, we have distributed $235,000 and counting in relief funds to small business owners directly impacted by COVID-19.

The businesses we have supported have been able to pivot successfully, safely reopen, and retain employees who can then go on to support their families.

There is still work to be done as we navigate an unknown future together. After much consideration, we made the difficult decision to cancel Seeds of GROWth, our largest fundraiser of the year, due to the ongoing pandemic. By donating to our Seeds of GROWth Campaign, you are helping the small businesses who make our community special overcome the continued challenges of COVID-19.

Gift Matching Programs

Many employers offer matching gift programs to encourage their employees to support charitable causes. These programs often match funds for donations or volunteer time. Every employer has unique rules for such programs, so please check with your human resources office for specific guidelines.

“To know I could rely on GROW in my time of need felt so wonderful. I want other people to benefit. We can get through this by helping each other.” — Lucinda Waver, owner of Cindy’s Chicken Coop
