May Entrepreneurial Insider Recap
May’s Entrepreneurial Insider segment is all about food! We’re thrilled to talk about our new partnership with Michigan Good Food Fund and the opportunity to provide lending to good food enterprises in Grand Rapids who are increasing access to healthy food in the community.
In cohorts with the Michigan Good Food Fund, we’re enlisting the help of the Downtown Market. This collaboration will allow GROW to offer food-centric training to good food entrepreneurs by preparing them with the business skills and resources necessary to start and grow their businesses. The trainings will offer up a wealth of information from knowing your numbers, certifications and requirements, packaging your product, and building your brand. We have slated a number of industry experts to share their knowledge as well as local food professionals that will bring real-world experience.
If you’re not familiar with Grand Rapids Downtown Market, it’s more than just a food mecca. With 24 indoor market vendors, cooking classes, events, and a fully equipped incubator kitchen, it’s a great space in our local community. The incubator kitchen strives to offer entrepreneurship, good food, and community while giving budding foodies a leg up.
The services we’re offering are ideal for those who are currently working out of their homes or under the cottage law or those already in production ready for the next step. We’re excited to help you find a larger space, streamline your business, create more product, and have commercial grade equipment.
At GROW, we’re aware of some of the struggles that come along with food-centric businesses. If you’re having difficulty scaling up, financing your business, developing a marketing strategy, or simply getting your product out there, let us know! We’re here to help, and together with Michigan Good Food Fund and Downtown Market, we will bring food-focused training to western Michigan entrepreneurs!
