Culinary Conversations Workshop: The Do’s and Don’ts of Food Licensing

So you’ve made the decision to launch your own food business, but what steps do you need to take to get there? What are the requirements? What forms need to be filled out? Join us for our first event of the Culinary Conversations: Workshop Series!
Hear from food licensing experts Kendra Wills of MSU-Product Center and Ryan Bolhuis of the Downtown Market Incubator Kitchen, as they present a step by step guide through the entire licensing process!
Kendra Wills is a MSU Product Center Innovation Counselor and provides support for new or expanding food business owners. She also provides technical support to farmers markets and healthy food projects. Kendra Wills has served with Michigan State University Extension in Kent County for over 20 years. As an educator, she has worked in a variety of areas including: farmland preservation, land use planning and zoning education, farm-to-school, youth gardening, food council development, community organizing and food business counseling/coaching. Kendra holds a Bachelor’s of Science degree from Michigan State University in environmental studies and a Master of Sustainable Business degree from Aquinas College.
Ryan Bolhuis, is an award winning chef with more than 15 years of food industry experience creating sustainable and profitable food systems. He has a passion for mentoring food entrepreneurs and progressing the West Michigan culinary community.
