Board Retreat & Client Visits
Our board of directors recently embarked on a unique retreat to get out and meet the small business owners and entrepreneurs we work with every day. This included meeting at the GROW offices to be chauffeured by one of West Michigan’s newest private driving services, iRide Smart. You can find them a holarider.com. We’ll have more to tell of their story soon.
The trip took the board along Division to Avenue of the Arts, where they saw the great space provided by Pop Up Shop GR. This shop provides pop up retail space to small businesses for special events, weekly or monthly options too. Learn more at PopUpShopGR.com
KnitIt is another unique stop. A business that utilizes 3D knit development for their customers, helping them reduce their production commitment. KNITit uses the solution of 3D knitting to create one product in one process for any industry. Learn more about them at KnitIt.co or this recent Women’s Lifestyle Magazine article.
The retreat ended with our meeting at Roots Brew Shop. Roots was created by Mallory Root, who was our 2016 Seeds of Growth winner, too. You can see her video here. Roots recently celebrated their 2nd anniversary and continue to develop their business to meet the needs of the community and their customers.
It was quite an experience to see and hear from these entrepreneurs about their business ideas, their challenges to begin and most of all their gratitude for the support and guidance that GROW makes available to them and hundreds more like them right here in West Michigan.
