GROW Receives Award at West Michigan Hispanic Chamber Gala

Each year, the West Michigan Hispanic Chamber of Commerce holds an Awards Gala to recognize individuals and businesses who have exemplified success and commitment to community. The event also sheds a light on the enormous impact the Hispanic businesses have on the economy in the area.

The awards presented are; Hispanic Business of the Year, Hispanic Businessperson of the Year, Young Professional of the Year, Most Promising Hispanic Business, Building Bridges, and Non-Profit Champion. Awardees are individuals and businesses who have been in existence for a few years, and who continue to show success, and support the community.

More than 800 people attended the sold-out event. They heard from Chamber and community leaders regarding important insights into the huge, positive economic impacts that Latinx businesses make on the entire region.

GROW is honored to have been selected as the Non-Profit Champion this year. Bonnie Nawara, GROW CEO said, “We are thrilled to be recognized with this award. We continued to work with the West Michigan Hispanic Chamber to provide our entrepreneurial training programs in Spanish. The Latinx community deserves access to the information and opportunities our organizations can provide, and we cannot let language be a barrier in this day and age.”
