Jennifer Deamud, Lee Ann Moss Service Award

Jennifer Deamud is a results-orientated leader with broad communications and management experience, encompassing strategic communications, brand development and program implementation. She has the passion and skill set to look outside of the box for innovative solutions to solve problems. Jennifer strives to provide a culture where everyone on the team is empowered to maximize their potential.
In Jennifer’s current role as Associate State Director of the Small Business Development Center she is responsible for operations, overseeing the accreditation process, proposal writing, and overseeing statewide communication strategies. She is engaged with strategic planning and program development, maintains strategic statewide relationships with stakeholders, partners, clients, and media. Jennifer is an accomplished strategic thinker with twenty years of experience.
Jennifer is passionate about Veteran initiatives, supporting and acknowledging the accomplishment of women, and passionate about giving to those who need support. Jennifer serves on the ATHENA steering committee, WGVU Engage Committee, and on the Fund Development Committee at the Grand Rapids Opportunities for Women. Jennifer enjoys giving back to her local community by volunteering at the Byron Center Schools, leading Brownie Troop 4491, and serving as the Vice President of the Byron Days Festival board.
Jennifer acquired a Master of Public Administration from Grand Valley State University (GVSU) in 2015. She also has a Master of Science in Communications (2010) and a Bachelor of Science in Public Relations (1995) from GVSU. She is a graduate of Grand Valley State University’s Leadership Program and the Huntington Bank’s Rising Women Leaders Program. She is a certified business consultant and is certified in Nonprofit Board Leadership through the Johnson Center for Philanthropy.
Jennifer has received the Grand Rapid’s Business Journal’s “40 Under Forty” award, the Best of Michigan Community Leader Award, the Association of Small Business Development Center (ASBDC) Michigan’s Star Performer Award and many other acknowledgements throughout her career.
