The finance panel will share different resources for funding your business. Panelists will talk about sources including investors, small business loans, microlending and more. The panel of women entrepreneurs will share their stories, including successes, failures, and lessons learned along the way.

And with so many workshops, you’re certainly going to find answers to your questions, the inspiration for your entrepreneurial journey, and make new connections as you start and build your business. See the lineup of workshops here:

Veverly Austin will lead one of the many workshops. Hers is titled The Bounce Back Effect. Attendees will learn the 10 keys necessary for overcoming setbacks with confidence!

Veverly shared, “Failure in my own experiences in starting a business were a foundation for this conversation. I’ve had it many times with others individually and in previous presentations.”

As many business owners know, entrepreneurship is tough. This workshop will help you to develop the mental stamina to be strong and empower you to create distinct actions to keep moving and not give up.

A few of the keys to be discussed include:

  • Change your focus. Whatever you set your mind to do, you can do it. This stems from the Henry Ford quote, “Whether you think you can or you can’t, you are right.”
  • Learning how to say “No.” Veverly will teach you about the importance of, and how to say, no. This is a critical skill to help entrepreneurs in their life and in their business. It’s not always about saying no, but this workshop will help you identify when it makes sense so you can focus your time on your business.

GROW Connects Workshop

How to Confidently Run Your Business | March 23, 6-9pm $25

Titled How to Confidently Run Your Business, this workshop will help business owners focus on their niche. There is so much competition, but when you focus on your niche and what you do best you can build your business around that. We’ll help attendees clarify why they are doing what they do, identify their strengths, and how to strengthen them even more.

Veverly said, “We don’t focus on the weaknesses, we want to build your strengths. When you make your strengths even stronger, then your weaknesses can improve as well.”

Other elements of this workshop include:

  • Getting to know and understand your core self so you can remain in the game.
  • Identify when to ask for help and find mentorship to help in your business
  • Hands-on exercises for self-assessment to identify your strengths and what is at your core, so you can continue to develop and strengthen it.

Seeing Failure as Lessons Learned

In this episode, we also talked about the word Failure. It’s important to know that as a person, a business owner, a parent, you name it, that you will fail. People need to embrace their failures, not as a what you can’t do, but rather to focus on what you can do. It (failure) is a stepping stone. You tried, you failed, now you can try new things and keep it moving.
